About Business & Technology
Business and Technology Education plays a major role in preparing a competent, business-literate, and skilled workforce. This program area is designed to integrate business and information technology skills into the high school curriculum. Therefore, a Business and Technology Education course should be part of the curriculum for every student. Business and Technology Education has relevance and helps young adults manage their own financial affairs and make intelligent consumer and business-related choices.
The basic skills of reading, writing, and computation are an integral part of the Business and Technology program. Computer literacy and proficiency in the various applications are emphasized. Development of human relations/interpersonal, employability, economic, and entrepreneurial skills is a part of each of the pathways. Opportunities to develop and apply leadership, social, civic, and business-related skills are provided through DECA and SkillsUSA, two Career-Technical Student Organization (CTSO) for Business and Technology students.
Students may also earn the Business Achievement Cord by completing a series of requirements. Please click here for more information.
