Senior Awards Night

Oxnard High School held the Annual Senior Awards Night on 5/30.  Over 120 seniors were recognized for their achievements.  The PAC was filled with family, friends and staff who were there to show support the students. Many scholarships were provided by our community who were present to present students with their awards.  Mr. Urias, along with our counseling and teaching staff were there to celebrate our students’ achievements and accomplishments.  Congratulations to all the students who were recognized!!!

3rd Annual Poetry Slam

The stage was ready, and the room was packed.  Our 3rd Annual OHS Poetry Slam went down on Thursday, May 30th in our Performing Arts Center. Honoring student voice and experiences. It’s wonderful when students have a platform to express themselves. AMAZING students! 1st Place: Genesis Perez (12–CIHS) and a tie for 2nd Place: Rici Casino (12–OHS) and Angelina Leanos (12–CIHS). Thank you, Ms. Brickey, for putting on this great event!

Baking and Pastry

Students from Baking and Pastry have been very busy this month. Last week students in Ms. Vogt’s Baking and Pastry class created some delightful cakes. Students were inspired by C-CAP guest speaker Peggy Slattery to explore their creativity and come up with a design theme. Beautiful and delicious!

This week classes completed their semester baking with a flourless chocolate cake with ganache by garnishing with raspberries, almonds, and mint leaves for a beautiful ready for bakery look!

Commercial Photography

1st Place Iliana Camarena won the Farm to School Cookbook Cover contest. She is an outstanding student in Commercial Photography. She did a beautiful job using the OHS Studio. She professionally propped and lite her photo. She also used her skills in Photoshop to add graphics.  We are so proud of the talent here at OHS!
