Commercial Photography/Yearbook

Students from Yearbook were able to collaborate with the Commercial Photography classes and use the studio space to complete photos needed to finish the layout design. Commercial Photo students helped to Photoshop the images to be ready for the yearbook. Monarch Photography was on hand to help and collaborate with students. As always we appreciate the help and support they give our students.

Culinary Arts

On Thursday, April 25th, students from Ms. Vogt’s Baking & Pastry and World Cuisine classes joined VCOE’s Hospitality Week at the Courtyard Marriott in Oxnard. Students were able to spend time learning about culinary arts in the banquet hall, front desk operations, as well as sales and marketing. Students were able to help set up for a banquet and then enjoy lunch prepared for them by the hotel’s chef. Such a great time learning about hospitality careers.

Oxnard High’s ASB was recognized and awarded the Outstanding Leadership Program from CASL. ASB was recognized at the OUHSD school board meeting this past Wednesday.  OHS’ ASB students are a diverse student group, know the power of helping others, and how important equity and inclusion are as well.

Honor Roll and Principal’s Honor Roll

Congratulations to all our students who were Honor Roll or Principal’s Honor Roll recipients. Principal Urias along with the Assistant Principals went out to the classrooms to give out the awards to each recipient. It was the highlight of Principal Urias’ day to honor students and have their classmates applaud for them. Congratulations OHS students!

This past Saturday, April 27th,  the Cadets let loose at their Military Ball. The Cadets looked elegant, but that didn’t stop them from cutting a rug, and enjoying the photo booth. The event was held on Channel Islands Air National Guard Station, the food from Wood Ranch, with music from DJ Issac, provided an ideal venue for our event. The memories made and shared will be long lasting.
