Culinary Arts

On Monday, April 22nd  students from Ms. Gallagher’s Culinary Arts and College and Career Seminar courses participated in Hospitality Week by job shadowing the wonderful management team at Best Western Plus in Thousand Oaks. The students were broken into small groups and spent 45 minutes in each department learning front desk operations, housekeeping and maintenance, and group sales and marketing. The students were treated to lunch and a special talk by the owner of the hotel. They all gained a new appreciation for the industry and saw the field as a viable one for their future career.

Clothesline Project

OHS’ 2nd Annual Clothesline Project was so moving. Powerful messages shared to bring awareness to sexual assault through messages of hope and strength. The Clothesline Project is a visual display dedicated to raising awareness about the reality of violence in our society. It is composed of t-shirts created by survivors of violence, or in honor of someone who has experienced violence.

We are proud to announce that Claudia Oregel took 1st place in the district’s AVID write off. Thank you Claudia for your hard work and dedication.  Way to go Claudia! She will be acknowledged at a future board meeting.
