Career Expo

Last Friday, March 22nd  Oxnard high school students participated in the 34th and you caught a career expo at the Oxnard Performing Arts Center, Mr. Henchy and Mrs. Taylor took two busloads of students and they were able to talk to professionals in industry sectors they may be interested in it was another successful event put on by the district and college and career technicians.

NEW Varsity  Football Head Coach

We are pleased to announce that Jaime Moreno, current Oxnard HS Social Studies teacher and LAPS Academy coordinator, will be the next Varsity Football Head Coach for Oxnard HS.
 Mr. Moreno is an Oxnard HS graduate and former Yellowjacket football player. Being from the community, Mr. Moreno has been able to develop strong relationships with the Oxnard staff, families, and the community. He understands the Oxnard HS tradition.  Mr. Moreno has a myriad of coaching experience at all three high school levels dating back to 2005 when he was the JV head football coach for Pacifica HS. Mr. Moreno came to Oxnard HS as a teacher in 2013 and has been both the freshmen and JV head football coach during his time at OHS. Congratulations to Mr. Jaime Moreno.

Commercial Photography

This week students from Commercial Photography are teaming up with our own Judith Isaac and Marisol Alamillo from Interface- Children and Family Services, to help create Teen Violence Prevention Awareness images. Students are also working to create images for the Web page to bring awareness to Mental Health Issues.

 

Active Assailant Drill

On Thursday, March 28, Oxnard High participated in the active assailant drill. We want to recognize Mrs. SmithMichel for giving this drill and the safety of our students to heart be thoroughly involving them in preparing for this drill. Definitely an example of OHS PRIDE preparation!
Mr. Luoma was very proud of our students for the way they responded to yesterday’s lock down drill.Great job OHS!

SBAC Testing Block Schedule
